This
month our Bridge Kids started with Fur-ever Foster Winston in the care
of Marti. Then it was Mandi, in Hospice care with Marti. While Mandi had
very little time with Marti, she was loved as an only fur-child her last
few hours on this earth. We ended the month with Sir Alex, adopted
Father's Day by Buck. Marti & I made the trip to be with Buck &
Mary as he went to the Bridge with their love.
Misty is
still hangin' on in Fur-ever Foster care with Colleen. She just keeps
bouncing back, good days, not so good days. Colleen says Misty is
comfortable. Ringo is still doing splendidly in Fur-ever Foster Care
sharing time with both Colleen & her daughter, Alex.
Tootsie,
Hoppy, Corkie are in foster care with Susan. Jiminey is with Jo Anne.
Please go to our home page, click on the link to Chappy's Place, then
the button for Fosters, read about Corkie & the other foster
fur-kids at Ft. Timmerman. We are still in urgent need of more great
foster homes & Hospice foster homes.
Alas, our
visits to the Good Samaritan Care Center did not happen this month due
to the extreme heat. We hope to get back to visits now that the
temperature is cooling down a bit.
Adoptions
for the month were Sasha, Wabbit, Gypsy Julie, Sir Victor, Lorraine
& Sir Gus. Wabbit will be returning here once she has been captured.
She went AWOL after 6 days with Judith, slipping out of her harness as
they were working on leash walking. Accidents happen, yet Judith feels
that it would be best to return Wabbit & we always welcome back our
fur-kids. Sir Gus is trucking with Buck on 18 wheels & 4 paws. We
will be updating his trucking adventures on his profile as Buck calls
with updates.
We also
received word that Mr. Bart Pryor, a Cole Camp pound dog, was finally
adopted from his foster home in Colorado into his fur-ever home. Yeah!!
The Cole
Camp pound has 2 pups, both black lab/hound mixes, about 3 mo. old. They
had a vet check, basic vaccinations, wormed. More vet care is done on
pound pups. Alas, they are running out of time. City ordinance
determines the time frame for holding them. The pound only has 2 pens,
thus space is always at a premium.
Trina's
Obedience & Behavior modification classes are now meeting 6:30PM
Sat. at Versailles city park. The next class will begin Sept. 23.
We are
working on Oct. for the Spay/Neuter month for the city dogs. Cole Camp's
own Dr. Heimsoth & the Chief of Police are working to assist with a
low cost S/N program during Oct. for those dogs within the city limits.
At least this is a small start to try to make a difference on unwanted
puppies.
A
reminder to check petfinder.com weekly for their special events.
A
reminder to look at your fur-kid's teeth, make dental care a priority.
The infection leads to kidney failure as poisons enter the kidneys
affecting heart & lungs.
We give
thanks to each of you who so generously give of your time & talents
to help these fur-kids as they wait patiently for their fur-ever homes.
Rescue life is good, yet a fur-ever home is best. We could not do this
work without your continued support. God bless you each & every one.
