Angel dogs
began with Bibi leaving Marilyn & Bob to mourn her passing,
Meatball leaving Shirley to mourn, Sadie leaving Lynn, Kristy
& family to mourn.
Foster Parents
must be given all the credit for making the final selection on
the best fit for their fostered fur-kids. They spend 24/7 with
them, best know their likes & dislikes. They have the
awesome task of selecting the best fit for their fostered
fur-kid. Then the foster has the honor of setting up the
appointment to meet the fur-kid, hand over the fur-kid to
his/her new parent, see the glow of joy. Judy V describes it as
the hardest job & yet the best job. It's sometimes a
challenge to find the best fit as we have more than one
wonderful applicant for a pet. The foster must carefully weigh
all info. to determine which applicant will meet the needs of
the pet. Our Happy Tails prove our foster families do a
wonderful job. They are PRICELESS & we could not do the
volume we do without their dedication & devotion to these
fur-kids.
Good
Samaritan Care Center visit
was Sully's first with a stop at the domino table in the
activity room where residents were playing dominoes. He rolled
on his back for belly rubs from the staff. His second stop was
at the TV room where he promptly sat upon a resident's lap. He
was anxious to give kisses having had a dental the day before
& a fresh grooming that morning. He still smelled of
cologne! The ladies do so love a sweet smelling fur-man with
fresh breath.
Adoptions
began with DingDong
(Sandy failing Fostering 101, adopting her first fostered
fur-kid), then Gweneviere leaving from Andrea's foster care,
Oliver, Hannah & Wendell leaving from Judy V's foster care.
Upcoming
Events - Oct. 3 is

petfinder.com home page.
Project
Afghanistan as of
Sept. 1 has had over 300 lbs of school supplies sent to the
Chaplain. Several boxes of personal hygiene items, paperback
books, snacks to the troops via Col. Johnson & even a box of
golf balls by Neil's golfing pals. Every little bit has helped
to let them know Cole Camp cares! Several of the fur-kids were
at the Cole Camp Fair on Saturday Sept. 12 along with
volunteers, fosters & adopters. It's always nice to see the
adopted fur-kids come back for a visit.
Microchip
Alert - Thanks to
those of you that have registered your microchips after the
adoption. This will expedite the reunion of you with your pet
should he/she become lost. We are going to be contacting
adopters individually by e-mail if you have not yet done so. We
have a limited number of pre-paid registration forms that we may
submit for you, no charge to you. Emily, adopted 2006, recently
was retunited with us because of her spay tattoo, microchip
& the dedication of the shelter/rescue volunteers involved.
We have been unable to locate her adopters, perhaps moved or
died? Thus, she is now needing a fur-ever home once again, on
both our Adoptable page and our HOLD page.
Wish
List - We would
appreciate any gently used sweaters for the fur-kids. With some
having poor circulation due to their age we keep sweaters on
them during winter. On nice sunny days of fall through spring
they are bundled up, get a bit of outdoor play time in the fresh
air.
We
give thanks to each of you who so generously give of your time
& talents to help these fur-kids as they wait patiently for
their fur-ever homes. Rescue life is good, yet a fur-ever home
is best. We could not do this work without your continued
support. God bless you each & every one.
And
last, but not least, a very special prayer for those in uniform
keeping us safe, land of the free, because of the brave. To our
men and women in uniform: Thank You!"
