Pets for Senior Homes www.7bellssanctuary.petfinder.com
Angel Dogs at the Rainbow
Bridge are Pauli, a tiny little guy that stole our hearts with
his excellent disposition. He was loved for the short time he was in
rescue then in his fur-ever home with Barb.
Our fur-kids in foster
care have their profiles notated accordingly. Foster homes make
it possible for us to save more lives. We NEED great foster homes!!
Good Samaritan Care
Center visits were on the 12th, an AM visit by Meshack getting lots of
holding by residents & petting by staff. He also gave a lot of
little kisses. Bubbles went in the PM. Bubbles never meets a stranger,
always on the look-out for a fur-ever home.
We have 2 events scheduled at the Good Samaritan Care Center.
Oktoberfest Oct 11, 10AM will be a Dachshund RaceWalk with an all breed
Talent Show & Fashion Show. Then on Oct. 25, 2PM will be the annual
Pets on Parade Halloween Style. Pets in costume are always such a hoot
at this event. Some of the children also wear their costumes so it makes
for a howling good time.
Adoptions began with Ferdie, Chipper, Sweetie, Tito, Jacki, &
Shadrach. Esposita & Bendi (adoptions handled by Judy V), Suzannah
(adoption handled by Barbara & Judy V).
Our Cole Camp pound's bluetick hound mix pup was neutered, Pennies for
Pooches fund. Hopefully he may now find a fur-ever home. The neutered pit
bull mix was adopted locally as was the German
shepherd pup after her spay was done. Alas, the pound was once
again full by the last week-end of the month.
Local events began with several of the fur-kids at the Cole
Camp Fair, "Meet & Greet" on the lawn at Rosebud
Gifts & Fabric, Saturday only. Alyssa & Gerry made a brief
appearance. BabyCakes, Bubbles, Charo, Shadrach, Meshack, Jedediah, Tito
spent the day. Marti & Judith did their usual fine job of telling
about our rescued fur-kids. Then Judy V & I took several of the
fur-kids to the Clinton DogFest. The event is to help raise awareness of
the shelter & rescue
pets needing adoption. The 8th Annual Bicycle Tour de Clabbertown
was attended by Lucie & Barb, also Bijou (from Maxwell's
Woodcarving). This was the first year for the pets to be in the
bicycle/walking tour & it seemed to go quite nicely. One
little dog was riding in a cart behind a bicycle. Cute!
Benton County Emergency Management Disaster Drill was Sept. 17. We
assisted with the pet & livestock portion of the simulated disaster
as the Truman Dam began to fail due to what appeared to be a terrorist
act, explosives in a truck on the dam. It was educational. We encourage
everyone to make their own plans to evacuate with their pet(s), have
food, water, Rxs, crate & suggest you crate
train your pet. While we hope we are never faced with a disaster,
we never know what the future may bring.
We are collecting again this fall for the Whiteman Air Force Base
Project Cinderella. If you have any formal wear please bring it to
Rosebud Gifts & Fabric. Gerry will then hold it for a WAFB
representative. We have sent 7 formals courtesy of Sisters Consignment
Shop this month via Mary to Andrea for delivery to WAFB.
Our newsletters are on-line thanks to Susan. http://www.7bellssanctuary.com/newsletters.html
We will still e-mail them yet this gives new visitors to our site a
chance to read more about us. It's a stroll down Memory Lane for us!
Please check out www.petfinder.com
if you haven't done so lately. The "Learn" section is my
personal favorite. The "Local & Classified" is a wonderful
way to list or search for Lost/Found pets.
Our Wish List is for those of you asking for specific needs for our
fur-kids. We can always use small washable dog beds. We now have plenty
of regular bed pillows for them to stretch out upon. Some prefer to curl
up in little dog beds which are a "luxury item" that they
would welcome. The Boston
terrier, pug & dachshund fur-kids have asked for collars,
harnesses & leashes. The chihuahuas are asking for piddle pads &
sweaters. They refuse to go outside in cold or wet weather! With cooler
days ahead they shiver so easily. They are so spoiled! Bryan & Lil
Art are asking only for a special fur-ever home to accept them as they
are. They refuse to acknowledge their physical challenges, do very well
getting about. We do have one foster/volunteer asking for crochet yarn
& she will crochet little blankets for the fur-kids.
We are so grateful when we receive those gently used items. Reduce,
Reuse, Recycle. Please continue to think of us & our little Cole
Camp/Lincoln pound before throwing anything away.
We give thanks to each of you who so generously give of your time &
talents to help these fur-kids as they wait patiently for their fur-ever
homes. Rescue life is good, yet a fur-ever home is best. We could not do
this work without your continued support. God bless you each & every
one.
And last, but not least, a very special prayer for those in uniform
keeping us safe & free. May our Lord wrap His Bubble of Protection
about them & those that wait patiently for their return.
