Senior
Pets for Senior Homes www.7bellssanctuary.petfinder.com
We begin
with sympathy to Chris on the death of her cat, Lil Bit. We also offer
sympathy to Diane & Doug on the death of Molly, Jim & Margie on
the death of Blondie, Tom & Jaime on the death of Sadie.
Visits to
the Good Samaritan Care Center picked up a bit this month. Marti took in
Marcy, a visiting yorkie. Also visiting were Lolita Hunnie, Peaches
& Lacy, Misty, & Bijou. Peaches, Lacy, Misty & Bijou all had
to show off their fresh grooming by Linda's Grooming of Lincoln MO.
Heidi's children, Payton and Miranda, took Lil Hans & Tippy to visit
with the residents. Payton also takes Bijou for walks about town after
school. Marti & Ruby handled registrations at the Halloween Pets on
Parade. Katie sat on Marti's lap to welcome costumed pets. Many family
members came to watch the pets which thrilled the activity director.
Adoptions
for the month were Lil Tito & Lolita Hunnie. Dakoda & Oscar were
transferred to MidWest Animal Rescue. Lucy, being fostered by Catherine,
was transferred to Open Door. We must sometimes work with other rescues
to get these great dogs into fur-ever homes. All of the Lincoln &
most of the Cole Camp pound dogs were either adopted or transferred to
rescue. The pound puppy was adopted after she turned 8 weeks of age
& will be pediatric spayed by Dr. Anstaett prior to placement in her
new home. TarBaby is still waiting for adoption or rescue from the
pound.
Fosters
for the month include Sir Alex with Buck, still 18 wheeling to promote
adoptions from shelters/rescues. Buck has lost so much weight on the Sir
Alex diet that he finally had to buy a smaller belt! Candy Carlotta is
with Marti, Misty is with Melissa, Tippy spent a few days with sisters
Erma & Mary, Charlie Brown is with Mindi & Steve. Kirby, Paco
& Mico are all with Kris and her delightful children. They are
thrilled to be able to play with the dogs, then meet the new families.
We need more young folks in rescue. Those special needs dogs in foster
care are doing very well with the extra TLC they are receiving. We must
admit, we are a bit crowded at the sanctuary, thus foster homes are a
tremendous asset. Bijou is getting to spend a few hours during the day
occasionally in the Maxwell Woodcarving Shop, downtown Cole Camp, with
Jim & Margie.Tippy spent an afternoon & overnight with Elijah
& Forest, children of Priscilla. They are giving her some much
needed playtime.
Trina's
Obedience & Behavior Modification class resumed in October. We were
able to take Dakoda, Jaxs, Tippy, Candy, Katie & Bijou. Marti &
Mary also attended class with the dogs.
Marti
& Ruby were at the Oktoberfest, and helped raise funds with
donations on the dog toys, collars, leashes, bowls that were donated by
Pat. We still have a few items left and Christmas is just around the
corner. Now, for a warm spot for the ladies to sit at Christbaumfest.
Mary
& Patty helped transport dogs this month which has been a tremendous
blessing. Mary finally has her computer up and running, courtesy of Art,
webmaster for Cole Camp. Thus Mary will be able to take more pics of the
dogs at her vet to be killed in hopes they may be saved by rescue or
private adoptions.
Lil Hans
returned to Doc Anstaett, his broken jaw had healed, the plate was
removed. We are so thankful for the skill our Master gave Doc so that he
could save this precious little fella rather than send him to the
Bridge.
We must
pause to give Thanks to our Master as Thanksgiving draws near. We thank
all of those that have helped us over the months. We would not want to
miss anyone, so will just say a huge "Thanks" to all. We have
the greatest veterinarians, adopters, supporters, foster homes,
volunteers & rescue friends. You are the BEST!
