Bridge Kids
are Skylar & Romy leaving Beth in mourning. The Car Wash
Kids of Lincoln all became Angel pups.
Foster Care
makes a world of difference on the number of lives we may save.
One more new foster home signed up this month.
Adoptions
began with Charlie leaving foster mom Andrea, Mozart & Elsa
leaving from the Sanctuary, Lil Art leaving foster mom Judy V,
Bear leaving foster dad Tracy, Ziggy AKA Siegfried leaving
foster parents Susan & Karl. Inky was transferred to Flaw
Dogs.
Our "Pay
It Forward" program is benefiting the Cole Camp Food
Pantry. It also helps with families selected by the school in
the communities of our foster parents. We ask our adopters to
bring part of their adoption fee in human food items. Those
items are then donated to Cole Camp food pantry or donated to
families selected by the foster family's school as needing a bit
of help.
Cole Camp
Pound Chocolate
labrador female was returned to her owner. The 6 Lincoln Car
Wash Kids at the Cole Camp holding facility were put down with
the the local vet in attendance. We cannot save them all no
matter how hard we try. This underscores the importance of
spaying the females. We still have the "Work for Spay"
program with the Cole Camp Chief of Police. Maybe their death
with encourage just one person to spay their female, prevent
more killings? We cross our paws for that! Boston Terrier mix
was impounded.
Out of the
death of the Car Wash Kids a local reporter took up the cause.
Larry Fowler wrote a really long commentary in the Cole Camp
Courier. One suggestion he had was to have a "sponsor"
for posting a picture of the pound pooches in the local
newspaper. Fox Funeral Home has stepped up for sponsorship! God
luv em! The Car Wash Kids have not died in vain. Their deaths
have raised public awareness through Larry & Cristin.
Upcoming
Events: April 17, 9AM
- ?? Tour De Clabbertown & Jim Maxwell Bicycle Ride &
Fashion Show to be held downtown Cole Camp. Walkers & pets
are encouraged on the tour, with or without a bicycle. More
details as the event gets closer. Meet & Greet some of our 7
Bells Sanctuary fur-kids & volunteers on the lawn of Rosebud
Gifts & Fabric.
What we did
this month - We spent
another month trying to stay warm. Storm after storm, snow, ice,
freezing temperatures, all worked to keep us in Hibernation
mode.
Foster mom
Andrea has been deployed for 4 months. Prior to her deployment
pet sitters were trained, food & kitty litter were stocked
up. Karen & Connie & others will be making sure all runs
smoothly in her absence. We will have an address on our
petfinder home page so letters of encouragement may be sent to
her. Several of our volunteers went to Andrea's, stocked up her
larder with a donation from Purina of dog food/treats. Then the
fosters/volunteers shared the rest of the load so all of our
fur-kids are well fed. God Bless Purina!
Foster Mom Judy
V & her volunteers trapped, the vet altered 5 cats. Four
were females so a good start to reduce more unplanned
pregnancies. What they learned is that due to the cold weather
they must confine the cats for a few days following surgery,
make sure they stay warm. They have a plan in place, all will be
safely recuperated, then released.

We

fur-kids as they wait patiently for their fur-ever homes. Rescue
life is good, yet a fur-ever home is best. We could not do this
work without your continued support. God bless you each &
every one.
And last, but
not least, a very special prayer for those in uniform keeping us
safe & free. In the words of a dear friend "How would
we have the ability to take the time, enjoy the right to do so,
if not for the sacrifices made, by our men and women in uniform?
Perhaps today, they are sitting in a trench, walking a patrol,
in harm's way ... Freedom has never been free: they are making
payments. To our men and women in uniform: Thank You!"
