Senior
Pets for Senior Homes
This is
our monthly update for the February events at
www.7bellssanctuary.petfinder.com.
First,
our sympathy goes out to Lynn and her family on the death of their
peekapoo, Fuzzwillie. Lynn previously adopted Mookie AKA Steve from us.
Later her daughter adopted Stanley, a senior golden, from Wendy with
Love A Golden. This family has been a tremendous blessing to seniors,
especially those seniors with special needs.
We
visited the Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp during February.
TeddyBear, Rain, Miss Maggie, Queen, Elle Mae, and Tipi Girl all made
several visits. Marti often accompanied Tipi Girl and Miss Maggie. The
residents do so look forward to seeing the different dogs.
Brittnee,
one of our youth volunteers, spent a few hours each week-end providing
social time to Rain, TeddyBear and Queen. She was also able to take Miss
Maggie for several walks during the week after school. We hope her
example will encourage more young people to become involved with pets.
Brittnee is able to tell her peers the importance of spay/neuter and
responsible pet ownership.
It was a
challenging month. We took a leap of faith with Tipi Girl and Missy.
Both arrived needing surgery. Both had malignant tumors removed. Tipi
Girl is doing nicely, just must lose weight to prevent back problems.
Missy is recovering from bronchitis and must recover fully to have
additional surgery for her hernia. Becky faithfully cared for her until
Dr. Jane suggested a smoke free home to help her breathing problems. We
soon hope to have Missy with a forever family able to provide the
special care she needs. Miss Maggie will be going to the University of
Missouri at Columbia the first part of March in hopes we can get this
chronic wound of hers cleared up.
We are
extremely thankful to those that send funds to help us with the surgical
needs on these special needs pets. We could not do what we do without
your generosity. Bless you!!
Rain was
adopted and will be an only child. We will update her profile as updates
become available. Diamond & Harley, listed with us as a courtesy to
their guardian, were able to find homes with a rescue in Oklahoma. We
thank those that helped spread the word about these two seniors.
We are
looking forward to the arrival of TeddyBear's adoptive parents from
Colorado the early part of March. He will be an only child. We actually
think most of these pets would do best as an only child. They have
shared love here, now they need a home where they can be given undivided
love and attention.
Please
keep our seniors in your prayers. They patiently wait for a forever
home. We want a home that will treasure them as priceless gifts from
God.
