Senior Pets for Senior Homes www.7bellssanctuary.petfinder.com

We mourn the loss of "Mouse" AKA ReaganRiley. We ask that you please cross your paws for Darlene. She is struggling so will be visiting Doc again hoping for a miracle.

Foster Care finds Ringo is in Fur-Ever Foster Care with Colleen & Alex. Snowball is in foster care with Marti, Hopalong Cassidy "Hoppy"& Jolly are with Susan, Alyssa with Gerry, Dixie with Barbara, Chloe with Colleen, Clara & Jessie with Judy V., Carli with Judy B., Abraham & Lilly with Sid & Kelly.

Snowball took Marti to the Good Samaritan Care Center to see the Hats on Parade by the residents.

Adoptions were Puppita Venus "Pita" & Sir Scruffy McDuff, both special needs pups that found fur-ever homes willing to love them for whatever time they have left. Lovie, Zeke, Sassy, Babs all found fur-ever homes. Cole Camp pound took in 5 dogs, 3 were returned to their owners, Georgie is with the 4H program, & one dog still remains waiting for her owner or she will be adoptable.

We assisted with transfers from shelters or breeders to other rescues. Walter now with Kim & MidAmerica Basset Rescue. He was too ill to travel when first pulled from a kill shelter for Kim, thus straight to the vet, Rxs, injections, rest, then vetted, on his way with Susan chauffering him to meet Kim half way. Susan, Patty & I assisted other rescues with their transfers, some kennel dogs (one pup, several youngsters, one small senior) directly to waiting rescues.

We are extremely pleased that the local 4H group will be assisting with the Cole Camp pound dog, Georgie. She will remain on our Adoptable pg., with the 4H to handle her vetting, obedience training with Trina, adoption. If this is successful, we hope more of our pound dogs will follow after Georgie.

Microchip registration note on our home page is because of an episode with Lacy, an adopted poodle who became MIA/AWOL. VERIFY registration 30 days after submitting it, update if address change or phone number change, notify rescue or shelter where you adopted pet from IMMEDIATELY upon the loss of your pet. First 24 hours are critical. Supervise your pet in a fenced yard. If the phone rings or you must use the bathroom, take the pet with you. Lacy was lucky, returned after 3 week absence. http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=5354215

Benton County Emergency Management Director Gary met with Marti, Jo Anne, Marie & I on May 30 at his headquarters in Warsaw. Cole Camp & Lincoln are coming along nicely with plans to house both pets & their guardians in event of a disaster. Much still remains to be done. Some folks higher up the chain of command admit they value the pets as "just a dog" so it is taking time to change their attitude. These are fur-kids to many of us. They just wear fur instead of skin.

Petfinder.com has a Classified section to list your unwanted pet. Please do that PRIOR to taking your pet to a shelter. Ask Qs to find a good home, check with a potential adopter's vet., ask to deliver the pet to make sure where he/she will be living. There is a section to list Lost/Found dogs also. Lacy was listed there.

We give thanks to each of you who so generously give of your time & talents to help these fur-kids as they wait patiently for their fur-ever homes. Rescue life is good, yet a fur-ever home is best. We could not do this work without your continued support. God bless you each & every one.

And last, but not least, a very special prayer for those in uniform keeping us safe & free. May God wrap His Bubble of Protection about them & those that wait patiently for their return.
