Pets for Senior Homes www.7bellssanctuary.petfinder.com
This
month our sympathy to Ginny on the loss of Elle Mae. Her story may be
found on our Happy Tails page. We also give sympathy to Chris on the
loss of Smokey, Linn on the loss of Baby, Janice on the loss of Rusty
and Cathy on the loss of Juneau.
Our
adoptions for the month were Emily, Baby, Janet, Maxwell & Willoa.
We transferred youngsters Bubby, Twinkles, LuciLu to another rescue. We
also transported dogs for other shelters & rescues. TEAMwork!
Together Everyone Achieves Much. Our transport found Jo Anne & I,
Min Pin Sally, meeting in Jeff City with Joe. Joining us was Sally &
Carol from south St. Louis area. Joe led us all to a lovely shelter
area, picnic pavilion, then sang his Puppy song & played his guitar
for us. What a lovely day! Saving lives with good friends. Life can't
get much better than that!
Fosters
for the month find Charlie Brown still doing well with Mindi &
Steve. He is doing his best to live life to the fullest. A link to his
Blog is on our home page. Sir Alex still has his 4 paws on 18 wheels
with Buck. Winston & Sir Victor are with Marti. Misty is with
Colleen. They both need your prayers as Misty is nearing the end. Ringo
is with Alex, Lizzie & Tootsie are with Jo Anne, Bo is with Wayne.
Michael is with Loren, our newest foster. You may find him on Fox TV
encouraging folks to adopt senior pets.
Visits to
the Good Samaritan Care Center were Baby with Marti, Gracee went along
with Jo Anne, Sir Victor went with Marti. Our Spring Pet Fashion Show at
the care center turned into a Hat Fashion Show for the residents. We had
not taken into account that our show would conflict with the graduation
parties scheduled. Red Hat Society ladies plus Marti, Jo Anne & I
had helped decorate hats with the residents on Thursday. The plan was
for them to wear the hats, watch the pets on parade on Saturday. We
ended up picking 3 male residents, had them judge the ladies wearing
their hats. In wheelchairs, on walkers, they paraded before the judges.
What a fun time! Sir Victor modeled the many outfits made by Sandy with
The Gilded Lily, a new art & antique shop in town. She also makes
dog clothes. We had so much fun, the care center plans to have a hat
fashion show again next year just about Mother's Day. We were honored
that Bob, Robin & Bob's mom Jo could attend the show. Past Mayor
Vogler was the Master of Ceremonies. He dedicated the Hat Fashion Show
to our beloved Mayor, unable to attend due to his health.
Our
beloved Cole Camp Mayor, R. E. Harris, passed away. He made such a
positive impact in our community. We dedicated our Cole Camp Work Day
for improvements to our local pound to him. Many local folks donated
materials for the improvements. Hiedi's Gourmet Catering fed the
workers. Team Whiteman provided the labor. Howard's Fence & T &
D Heating & Cooling provided fencing guidance. It was a fun day. Any
dogs now at the local pound will have a nice large area to exercise
daily to burn off their energy. Large dogs confined without exercise
tend to get grumpy, do not show well, may risk being deemed aggressive,
then put down.
Jo Anne
hosted the city wide Lincoln garage sale to help raise funds for both
our rescue and the Lincoln/Cole Camp city pound. Marti assisted Jo Anne.
Lizzie & Sir Victor were there for folks to see the seniors &
special needs dogs that we are caring for. We did get rained out in the
early afternoon. Half of the proceeds were donated to the Cole
Camp/Lincoln pound. Lil Hans made the presentation to city clerk,
Connie.
We give
thanks to each of you who so graciously give to help these wonderful old
ones as they wait patiently for their fur-ever homes. Your continued
support is the reason we continue & even grow a bit. Our deepest
thanks as we could not do it without you.
