Bridge
Kids begin with Nik leaving behind a grieving Mike & Donna,
then Julio leaving Tina to mourn, Mika leaving Karen &
Byron, Snoopy leaving Nancy. K-9 Bereavement Counselor contact
is Michelle at mzcgrief@yahoo.com
if you need to talk with someone who understands your grief. It
is never easy losing the ones we love, the pitter patter of
little paws & the wagging tail, the soft purring &
whiskers.
Foster
Care is so important as the fur-kids get more individualized
attention. Fosters are doing a fantastic job. They evaluate
their likes & dislikes which will help you know if this pet
is a suitable match for your home.
Good
Samaritan Care Center visits were Tickles & Hercules with
Allan & Judy. The little ones make lovely lap pets for the
residents to hold, pet.
Adoptions
for the month began with BoBo, Pooky, Alfie leaving from the
Sanctuary. Tickles was another failed Fostering 101 as his
foster mom adopted him. Judy V placed Frack in his fur-ever
home. Tasha was transferred to Nancy with FlawDogs. Last
adoption of the month was BabyDoll, Sanctuary resident yet
leaving from Ft. Timmerman.

June
6 Be A Good Dog University came to Cole Camp with instructors
Trina Grubaugh & Gwen Lau. On the lawn of Rosebud Gifts
& Fabric there were pet games, an agility course, plus a
FREE seminar with one-on-one assistance for your pet problem.
Tickles was leash trained within 10 minutes. Mildred was given
hints to keep Elmo from jumping up when folks visit. Jade was
given a hint on how to let Charlie meet other dogs without
growling. The water relay is always fun as pets & handlers
race to fill up the containers. Beginners were able to tackle
the agility course. Hercules watched it all as Mascot of Rosebud
while Char worked. Kiki, Pooky, BabyDoll, Cinderella, Lil Rambo
were in attendance for the social time. By the end of the day
many of the fur-kids were coming up to be petted or to sniff
fingers.
Please
contact joan@petfinder.com
& tell her about your senior pet adoption experience and
what you would say to encourage other adopters to consider
adding a senior pet to their families. Even though we update the
profiles of your experiences this is the time to share with joan@petfinder.com
directly.
Wish
List - We are so grateful when we receive those gently used
items. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Please continue to think of us
& our little Cole Camp/Lincoln pound before throwing
anything away that may be used for the fur-kids.
We
give thanks to each of you who so generously give of your time
& talents to help these fur-kids as they wait patiently for
their fur-ever homes. Rescue life is good, yet a fur-ever home
is best. We could not do this work without your continued
support. God bless you each & every one.
And
last, but not least, a very special prayer for those in uniform
keeping us safe & free. In the words of a dear friend
"How would we have the ability to take the time, enjoy the
right to do so, if not for the sacrifices made, by our men and
women in uniform? Perhaps today, they are sitting in a trench,
walking a patrol, in harm's way ... Freedom has never been free:
they are making payments. To our men and women in uniform: Thank
You!"
