Kids
began with Lacy leaving Elizabeth & Patrick to mourn. Then
Penney, Bodie & Spanky left Bobbie in deep mourning, so many all
at once. Sympathy to Katrina on the passing of Winston, to Ruth on
the passing of Miss Pepper, to Bob & Robin on the passing of
Sadie, to Josie on the passing of Pugly. Pet Bereavement Counselor
contact is Michelle at mzcgrief@yahoo.com
if you need to talk with someone who understands your grief.
Adoptions
began with Rafferty, the first under the "Pay it Forward."
$25 of his adoption fee was requested in canned goods or
non-perishable human food items for the Cole Camp Food Pantry.
"Pay it Forward" began with our Dec. 1, 2009 adoptions.
Judy V placed Trampas in his fur-ever home. Part of his adoption fee
went toward the Christmas dinner & gifts of a local family
selected by the school including their pets adopted by Judy V, Beth
& Misty. Dorothy notified us that Walter was placed with a
family they knew, previous experience with black labradors. Last but
not least Judy V placed George in his fur-ever home. His adopters
brought a human food donation in addition to the adoption fee.
Another local family with pets in the Montrose area will benefit
from their kindness.
Cole
Camp/Lincoln pound started
the month with Sidney who was neutered, fully vaccinated using
Pennies for Pooches. An adopter did not come forth. He was
transferred to Sedalia, Mid-Missouri Humane Society where he was
picked up by another rescue. Holly, a stray from Lincoln, was also
impounded at Cole Camp, transported to Sedalia, was picked up by
another rescue. The Lincoln Councilwoman monitored her spay to be in
compliance with the Dept. of Ag. regulations. Kris Kringle was
whisked away from the Cole Camp pound on Christmas Eve, Santa Paws
& his dog sled. http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=15343532
Department of Agriculture did an inspection & Ruth, city
clerk, notified us paperwork & facility passed with flying
colors.
Upcoming
Events will
be rather slow with participation by us as winter comes to the
Valley of 7 Bells and we go into hibernation mode. We have paperwork
to tend to in order to renew our license & do the appropriate
State & Federal forms.
What
we did this month -
Stover Night Time Parade, 7 Bells Sanctuary wagon in lights, over 40
entries in the parade. Lincoln Parade had almost 50 entries
including HogDog with his collar wrapped in silver tinsel. We were
behind the "Birds" of Lincoln which included Lil Sammy.
Judy V & Kevin joined with Sherman riding in the 7 Bells
Sanctuary wagon, Kevin driving the 7 Bells Sanctuary vehicle.
Several of the BTs were walking. Brenda with Beluga her cart dog in
harness joined us. A doggone good time was had by all in spite of
the cold. We then met at the Lincoln school for chili & hot
dogs, a fund raiser for the local 4H.
Judy
V, Beth & Misty have succeeded in getting Montrose to pass an
ordinance to allow for the trap/spay/neuter release of feral cats.
The gals will help the City apply for grants to accomplish their
goals.
The
Inspector for the Department of Agriculture did our inspection on
Dec. 17th. Jason, Angel, Gigi put their best paws forward. Lil Hans
was on his very best behavior! After barking their initial greeting
all the fur-kids went to their soft beds, pillows, allowed him to go
over our paperwork in peace. Happy Dancing in the Valley of 7 Bells
as our license will be renewed, we are in compliance.

We
end another year grateful for those that have helped us on this
journey of saving seniors and special needs fur-kids, taking in a
few young & healthy fur-kids to help us provide maintenance for
those that take such a long time to find a fur-ever home. We provide
sanctuary for those waiting patiently. We have wonderful
veterinarians, adopters, fosters, volunteers, donors, a wonderful
community of rescue folks as well as our own town folks. We could
not do this work without each and every one of them! TEAMwork!
Together Everyone Achieves Much!
And
last, but not least, a very special prayer for our heroes here and
in a far away land keeping us safe and free. In the words of a very
dear friend "We also have peace officers, firefighters and EMTs
serving, men and women in uniform as well. Some are in difficult and
dangerous situations/positions. They risk their lives for us. I pray
for them and give thanks for their service as well. Our freedoms
have never been free. They have been dearly paid for." May our
Lord wrap His Bubble of Protection about those that serve &
those that wait patiently for their return.
