deep mourning, Teddy leaving Paula in tears, BearBear leaving
Andrea mourning, Sassy leaving Susan & Karl grief stricken,
Red FKA Mr Bart Pryor, leaving behind many to mourn him including
Beth, Sher, Julie, many others including House With a Heart Senior
Pet Sanctuary.
Foster
Care - We
continue to be extremely grateful for the foster homes that do
such a terrific job. Our trained foster parents are training new
foster parents so we hope to continue with one paw in front of the
other, saving more lives. The foster homes & ALL of our
volunteers are PRICELESS!!
Adoptions
began
with Betty failing Fostering 101, adopting Blossom. Then the local
Good Samaritan that took in little Christmas Carole NKA Lucky
Strike, found in the ditch more dead than alive, decided to keep
her after nursing her back to health during this bitter winter.
Angel left from the Sanctuary as did Licorice, Oreo & Ebony.
Judy V placed Baxter, Lucinda, Drinda in their fur-ever homes. Sir
William left the Sanctuary with Allan & Mona placing him in
his fur-ever home. Andrea placed Gigi in her fur-ever home, then
Frosty, then Luke. Puppy Barnabas was transferred to Sally with
FlawDogs so we could bring back Brownie & Sascha, two
ancients.
Our
"Pay It Forward" program is benefiting the Cole
Camp Food Pantry. It also helps with families selected by the
school in the communities of our foster parents.
Upcoming
Events:
Not our usual newsletter but a bit of advertising this month since
we are unable to get out and about due to winter weather.
She
is very creative with designs or you may design something unique.
Foster
mom Jennifer will put your pet's picture on a mouse pad, tote bag,
business cards, whatever you want. Visit her web-site at http://www.fx-print.com/
What
we did this month - Our
Dept. of Ag. report was finished up, mailed off to renew our
license. We certainly moved our tails & wore our paws slick
this past year. We took in 322 pets, adopted out 102, transferred
210 to other rescues. The others remain in this rescue patiently
waiting for fur-ever homes.
We
spent most of January trying to stay warm in the deep freeze of
winter, in Hibernation mode. Even Lil Hans would go to the door to
go out, feel the cold, turn around, head for the piddle pad. He's
no dummy! Many of the fragiles wore shirts & sweaters the
entire month, day & night.
Judy
V wore her paws slick once again. She is feverishly working
(because it's so cold) to get more at risk fur-kids into other
rescues as we are so full. The dogs leave altered, vaccinated,
with a health certificate as needed. The receiving rescues pay the
vet bills. We keep scratching our heads to help the folks
contacting us. The "Rescue Me" gang of Montrose with
Judy V, Beth & Misty are up & running with their feral cat
program. Her vet is offering low cost spay/neuter. Spay/Neuter
grant applications on behalf of the city have been filed. The
community is solidly behind their efforts!
We
are thrilled at a new Gang of 7 Bells Sanctuary in
Lincoln. Our adopters & fosters in that town are
working together to help with the Lincoln dogs. A web-site is
under construction, donated & maintained by the courtesy &
kindness of Jim with www.pheonixweb.com
The site will focus on Lincoln community events as well as
the pets needing homes in that area. God luv 'em all! The site is www.7bellssanctuary.org
with Jim still tweaking it a bit. Please keep checking back.
Wish
List
- We are so grateful when we receive those gently used items.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Our sewing ladies still need fabric, old
jeans. You may drop them off at Rosebud Gifts & Fabric,
downtown Cole Camp or mail them to us at 26152 Donkey Ln., Cole
Camp MO 65325
We
give thanks
to each of you who so generously give of your time & talents
to help these fur-kids as they wait patiently for their fur-ever
homes. Rescue life is good, yet a fur-ever home is best. We could
not do this work without your continued support. God bless you
each & every one.
And
last, but not least, a very special prayer for those in uniform
keeping us safe & free. In the words of a dear friend
"How would we have the ability to take the time, enjoy the
right to do so, if not for the sacrifices made, by our men and
women in uniform? Perhaps today, they are sitting in a trench,
walking a patrol, in harm's way ... Freedom has never been free:
they are making payments. To our men and women in uniform: Thank
You!"
