Finding Pets Fur-Ever Homes www.7bellssanctuary.petfinder.com

Bridge Kids began with Dodi, leaving behind Rick & Debi to mourn, Justy leaving Connie & Michelle to mourn, Bubba leaving Andrea to mourn, Darla leaving Terry to mourn, Ozzie leaving Diane to mourn. Pet Bereavement Counselor contact is Michelle at mzcgrief@yahoo.com if you need to talk with someone who understands your grief.

Foster Parents continue to do an outstanding job. They love & let go, making room for another. We surely need more great foster homes!

Good Samaritan Care Center - H1N1 flu alert is still in effect.

Adoptions began with those leaving from the Sanctuary - Drinda & Lil Scamp. Goldie Hawn went to her fur-ever home leaving foster parents Art & Gerry waving "Bye!" Remington Steel went to his fur-ever home waving "Bye!" to foster mom Char. Karl & Susan said farewell as Olga went to her new home. Judy V said farewell to Perry as he left for the 7 Bells Sanctuary Island of Misfit Toys. Once on the Island they never leave until they make the trip to the Rainbow Bridge. The month ended with Art & Gerry placing Tami with her new family. Andrea failed Fostering 101, adopted Tippy. We transferred Donte & Vinny to Sally with FlawDogs. While it's always mixed emotions on a transfer we trust Sally to find them fur-ever homes before they become old puppies, less adoptable.

Cole Camp pound started the month with a FOUND chocolate lab mix, plus 2 Adoptable occupants from the previous month. One was taken into our rescue, another was transferred to Mid-Missouri Humane Society with her spay paid for by Pennies for Pooches & where she was later adopted from. On the 4th the pound filled up once again, 2 FOUND dogs. One was returned to the owner the next day. City workers try diligently to find an owner, asking about town as they tend to their regular duties. By the end of the month just the white young American Bulldog/terrier mix, Sidney, neutered & Rabies paid for by Pennies for Pooches, remained.

Upcoming Events will be rather slow with participation by us as winter comes to the Valley of 7 Bells and we go into hibernation mode. Any adoptions during December will have a portion of the adoption fee requested in canned goods & non-perishables. The donated items will be given to our Cole Camp Food Pantry.

What we did this month - On Nov. 9th two Pet Oxygen Mask sets were donated to the Cole Camp Ambulance. On the 11th one mask set was donated to the Montrose Fire Dept where foster mom Judy V serves as a First Responder. Detailed insructions on proper use of oxygen masks and use of CPR for pets by Larry Engeman DVM. Eight members of the fire dept , one junior member & two EMT Responders were present at this class.

Nov 11 Char, Hercules & Remington Steel gave a Pet Safety program to the Cole Camp Boys & Girls Club, Grades K - 2 by invitation of Tara. The video & coloring books which covered proper way to meet a pet to avoid a bite were courtesy of the American Kennel Club (AKC). Twenty four (24) children were in attendance. We MUST reach the children of today to make a difference for future pets.

Nov. 14 Judy V, Beth & Misty held a bake sale to help with the feral cat program in Montrose. They raised over $400 that will be used only to spay/neuter feral cats trapped by local folks. They will be altered, ears notched, released. These ladies are also adopting a Montrose family & their pets for Christmas.

Nov. 21st was Christbaumfest Pet Fest at The Gilded Lily by invitation of Sandy. We had over 25 fur-kids visiting to have their pics taken with Santa Paws AKA George Crewell of Spirit Wind Woodworks. The volunteers did an awesome job! A doggone good time was had.

Wish List - While rescue life is good it can't begin to compare with a fur-ever home. Our wish is that all of our fur-kids would find a fur-ever home. We have volunteers making dog pillows, dog beds, pet tote bags, collar covers, pet jackets. If you have any fabric or notions lying about that need a home, please think of our crafting ladies. You may drop them at Rosebud Gifts & Fabric or mail them to 26152 Donkey Ln., Cole Camp MO 65325-2256.

And last, but not least, a very special prayer for our heroes here and in a far away land keeping us safe and free. The Holiday season is often bittersweet. In the words of a very dear friend "We also have peace officers, firefighters and EMTs serving, men and women in uniform as well. Some are in difficult and dangerous situations/positions. They risk their lives for us. I pray for them and give thanks for their service as well. Our freedoms have never been free. They have been dearly paid for. There are over 200,000 American families with an empty chair at their table today because more payments are due." May our Lord wrap His Bubble of Protection about those that serve & those that wait patiently for their return.
