Senior Pets for Senior Homes www.7bellssanctuary.petfinder.com

We begin with sympathy to Michael & family on the loss of Smokey, Donna and family on the loss of Mac, and Kenny & Jane on the loss of Ayla. It is never easy to lose a pet, and the holiday season brings an extra touch of sadness.

Visits to the Good Samaritan Care Center included Katie, Charo, Lil Hans (always a hit with the female residents wearing his cute little jacket) and Bijou.

Adoptions for the month were Charmin, Lacy, Katie, Paco, Mico and Lucia. Kirby and Honeycomb were transferred to another rescue. Transfers are always made with mixed emotions. We want to personally hand over the dogs to the new guardian. Yet, sometimes the dogs just stay here, living as a pack, when another rescue is able to put that dog in a home as an only child and total TLC. Our concern is for the welfare of the dog, thus we make the transfer.

Fosters for the month include Sir Alex with Buck, still 18 wheeling, and Buck still losing weight on the Sir Alex diet. Charlie Brown is with Mindi and Steve, and he has been making wonderful improvement in their care. Misty was returned by Melissa and we hope to place her in the care of Becky next month. With Kirby's transfer, Kris and her family will be waiting for another dog to foster.

We are also benefiting from the doggy day care social time and even sleepovers being provided by Jim & Margie with Bijou as he spends his days in their Buzzard Roost woodcarving shop in downtown Cole Camp. Priscilla and her family take turns with Jaxs, Tippy, Charo. Having the dogs tested safely with young children is a blessing to the future placement of these dogs. We are thankful for Heidi's children, Miranda and Payton, taking the dogs for walks and social time after school. Alas, cold weather has now set in, limiting their assistance. Judy G spent two days this month just sitting and holding the small dogs. She has physical and mental challenges, yet she is a huge blessing to just sit and hold dogs closely. They will fall asleep in her arms, and she also dozes off.

Johanna has been helping with profiles. Check out Morris or Tigger Tanner for her creative flair. Also check out Bijou & Jaxs. Johanna is doing a great job.

Carl, Patty and Marti spent another work day here at the sanctuary. Conditions for the big dogs were improved upon plus extra storage space. Thanks!!

Patty & Mitch also helped with the Christbaumfest. Bijou, Lil Hans and Charo were also there.

We are tremendously thankful for the sweaters, towels, blankets that have been donated. Bless you each and every one for your kindness. Kate is making sweaters for Charlie Brown and Sir Alex with donated yarn. Yeah!!

The end of the month found us making a trip to Jefferson City area to meet up with other rescues from St. Louis area and transport some dogs. We are full, taking in dogs only on a case-by-case basis, yet may help transport for other rescues. Several of the small dogs here got to ride along. Marti & Lucia also accompanied us. Kris hosted the meeting, making pizza for everyone. We took along giant cookies from the Maple St. Cafe & Bake Shop in Cole Camp.

We again pause to give "Thanks" to our Master for His work through us to save these fur-kids.

So many people to thank, thus just a huge "Thanks!" to those of you reading this.
