Senior Pets for Senior Homes for

Angel
Dogs at the Rainbow Bridge are Sarah, waiting for Rain, Thumper
waiting for Heather, Frisky waiting for CJ, ChicoMan that never found
a fur-ever home yet will be overjoyed to see his owner again who
preceded him in death, leaving the foster care of Judy V with Doc
making a house call.
Fur-Ever
Foster Care has Ringo with Colleen, Alyssa with Gerry & Art.
Foster Care has Bubbles with Marti. Jessie, Moses, Maggie, Dixie,
Dottie, Teto, Vego, Esposita & pups, Ms. Effie, Ashton, SallyLu,
Naomi & Lil Art are with Judy V. Suzannah & Cisco are with
Barbara. Cinderella, SnowWhite, BabyCakes, Chipper, Shasta & Smurf
are with Paula & Alesha (keeping all the foo-foo kids groomed
weekly). Pearl is with Tracy. CocoaPuff is with Trina We still need
more foster homes as we must say "No!" to many fur-kids at
risk.
Good
Samaritan Care Center we managed to get in 2 visits. The yorkie
book-ends, Harry & Chipper, sat on lots of laps, got lots of
petting by both residents & even a few staff members. We try to
coincide the visit right after a grooming by Paula so they are at
their freshest. They love to roll in the grass & dirt so
cleanliness is important prior to our visits. Paula took Mater, her
personal pomeranian & helped us take Shadrach, Meshack, Ferdie
& Lil Hans. All were wearing matching yellow scarves with paw
prints, made by Paula. Shadrach, Meshack & Ferdie are so small,
residents were able to hold them & Shadrach gave lots of little
tiny kisses.
Adoptions
began with Noah, flying out with local citizen Allan, visiting
relatives in NJ. He took along Noah for his NJ adopter. While our
policy is that adopters must come get their fur-kids, these insane
fuel prices are creating a challenge. The adopter asked us to make an
exception. She arranged Noah's flight to coincide with Allan's flight,
all went well. Adoptions continued with Peggy Sue & Jolly
(adoptions handled by Susan), Cher with Paula to hand her over to
Bill, Teddy Bear, Randy (adoption handled by Barbara & Judy V)
& then last but not least, Tracy failed Fostering 101, adopted
CarolAnn.
LindaRose
was transferred to Bobbie with Silverwalk Hounds www.silverwalk.petfinder.com
"Rosie" We hope the public exposure at Petco adoption events
will result in her finding a fur-ever home soon. There have been 3
dumped German Shepherds in the past few weeks in our rural area.
"James" is with local folks, no one claimed him so a week
later he was fully vetted, being cared for by these good folks with
hopes of finding him a fur-ever home. We listed him on our site. He
found his fur-ever home with them after Trina & Gwen made a visit
& gave suggestions to improve his behavior. . The other two German
Sheperds did not fare so well. "Chance" never got much of a
chance. A bit protective of the female dumped with him, he paid the
ultimate sacrifice. She then went into hiding, fearful, some of the
locals were trying to gain her trust, maintained a feed station.
"Bambi" is on the run or she may have met the same fate.
Bubbles
& Harry went to the 4K Cheese & Meat open air patio on July 18
with Marti & I for dining & a FREE concert by the German brass
band Lausitzer Blasmusikanten from
Cottbus, east of Berlin. 4K provides water bowls for the pets &
encourages folks to dine & drink with their pets on a leash. Our
town is so pet friendly! Vacation close to home, spend a day in our
town, save fuel.
We
are so grateful when we receive those gently used items. Reduce,
Reuse, Recycle. Please continue to think of us & our little Cole
Camp/Lincoln pound before throwing anything away.
Saving
your pennies? Please bring them to Cole Camp Pharmacy, Maxwell's
Woodcarving, or The Gilded Lily "Pennies for Pooches"
donation jars to help make life better for the Cole Camp city pound
dogs. Rosebud Gifts & Fabric has a donation jar to help the 7
Bells Sanctuary fur-kids.
We
give thanks to each of you who so generously give of your time &
talents to help these fur-kids as they wait patiently for their
fur-ever homes. Rescue life is good, yet a fur-ever home is best. We
could not do this work without your continued support. God bless you
each & every one.
And
last, but not least, a very special prayer for those in uniform
keeping us safe & free. May our Lord wrap His Bubble of Protection
about them & those that wait patiently for their return.
