Pets for Senior Homes www.7bellssanctuary.petfinder.com
This
month our Bridge Kids started with our personal black lab, Sheddes,14
yrs. old in March 2006, had her since a puppy. Then Queen, passing in
her sleep, then Shannon with Doc in attendance. While we expected Vicki
to be next, she rallied, is still hangin' on. Jo Anne's personal dog,
Tuffy, 21 yrs. old, also went with Doc in attendance.
We
are pleased to announce that Misty (in our Fur-ever Foster Program with
Colleen) seems to have taken a turn for the better. Her coughing has
lessened, she has more energy. For those that have been praying for her,
we thank you so much. Winston (in Fur-ever Foster Care with Marti) has
also been hangin' in. Ringo (in Fur-ever Foster Care with Alex) is
spending more time with Colleen & Misty as Alex has other
obligations.
In
foster care are Tootsie & Hoppy, both with Susan & Karl. Jiminey
is with Jo Anne. We urgently need more great foster homes & Hospice
foster homes like those above.
Visiting
at the Good Samaritan Care Center were Sir Victor with Marti, Stella
with Judy. Mary brought Baby for a visit, also her personal eskimo,
Gracee, and Audra accompanied us as we made our rounds. The residents do
so love the fur-kids. Gracee is snow white, came to each resident that
called her name, then sat for petting. Sir Victor just loves to be held
by anyone. He now goes sporting a belly band, & has several
different colors.
Adoptions
for the month were Nita, Jingles, Snowman, Amelia & Teddy. Sampson
was transferred to another rescue that had an adopter waiting. He was
neutered PRIOR to adoption.
The
Cole Camp pound had 7 pups, 1 was returned to the owner, 1 was adopted,
the other 5 were transferred to a rescue that altered PRIOR to adoption.
Then, the Lincoln pound had 2 adult dogs, both were transferred to
another rescue that altered PRIOR to adoption. Jo Anne did the
transporting as Lincoln Liaison & we are grateful for her help.
Sherry is listing the pound dogs on 1-800-Save-A-Pet & Pets911 along
with the 7 Bells fur-kids.
We
found ourselves a winner of the Dec. - June Kuranda bed. Thanks from the
fur-kids to Kuranda bed! They are already sharing it. So good for their
old bones to lie upon.
Just
a reminder to adopters to check petfinder.com weekly to enter their
drawings. You may win a prize.
Alas,
we are receiving more phone calls about stray dogs & more e-mails
about unwanted dogs. While we cannot always take in the dog, we can give
them suggestions or refer them to another rescue that may be able to
help. Another reminder about the importance of spay/neuter when so many
unwanted pets already exist.
Trina's
Obedience & Behavior modification classes now meet at 7PM on Wed.
& Sat., Versailles city park. Time changed due to the heat.
We
give thanks to each of you who so graciously give of your time &
talents to help these wonderful old fur-kids as they wait patiently for
their fur-ever homes. We could not do this work without your continued
support. God bless you each & every one!
