March
saw too many Angel Dogs pass to the Rainbow Bridge. Mustang Sally,
adopted by Susan, became the first Angel Pup. We share this from one of
the wonderful Daily Drool (Basset) folks that sent Susan words of
comfort "Someone told me once when a puppy passes, it means a
little child has died under painful circumstance and needs a soul mate
to hug & love on the way..."
The
following Bridge-kids are not of our rescue. Guardians contacted us to
share their grief. Moses, as he waited patiently for a fur-ever home
with swmok9s, died in his sleep. Also becoming Angel Dogs were Patches
(not the Patches we have on our site), Ginger, Buddy, Sam, Musassah. Our
hearts go out to their families.
Misty
& Ringo are still amazing us in Fur-Ever Foster Care with Colleen
& Alex. LOVE truly makes a difference. Bitsey is doing well with
Marti. Hopalong Cassidy "Hoppy" & Jolly are with Susan.
Karl Failed Fostering 101, adopted Lil Willie. Sir Scruffy is with
Michelle, Lady Di is with Connie. Michelle & Connie are our newest
Hospice foster homes, caring for our Hospice pups. Misty & Ringo
went for fresh make-overs with Polly's Precious Paws. Hoppy &
BabyCakes had dentals with Doc as they still wait patiently for fur-ever
homes. BabyCakes had her right eye removed at that time.
Visits
to the Good Samaritan Care center were back in full swing since the
winter weather improved. Mazee is a favorite, always trotting in,
rolling over, wanting belly rubs. Allan took Cindy to visit after her
makeover by Missy's Pet Grooming. Winki went in with her fresh makeover
by Polly's Precious Paws. During Ladies Hat Day, several of the fur-kids
went in after their grooming. Ringo was taken in by Alesha, Misty was
taken in by Paula. Hoppy, Tootsie, 85 FKA Angel, Cindy, Lil Willie took
turns with Susan & I. Mazee put on a fashion show with teens Anthony
& Alex. Duchess also helped with the fashion show with guardians Ron
& Nancy. One handler, one fur-kid for safety had us very busy. The
residents & staff love freshly bathed fur-kids.
So
many of our special needs fur-kids found fur-ever homes. Spyder Murphy,
Sugar, Savannah, Maggie May, Marcy, Cindy, Trixie, Mazee, Sammy. As some
of you know, the cardiac testing at Univ. of MO in Columbia on Lil
Willie gave grim diagnosis, prognosis. Surgery was not an option. Karl
decided that for whatever time Lil Willie had, he would be loved in his
care. Lil Willie did return for a re-check, the Rx is helping. Surgery
is still not an option. He will be allowed to run, play, eat, sleep,
love & be loved until the Creator decides He needs another Angel Pup
at the Rainbow Bridge. We are still monitoring Canfield's placement from
the Cole Camp pound into rescue waiting for his fur-ever home. Our Chief
of Police drove the first leg of his trip to safety. We transferred 3
fur-kids directly from their commercial kennels to Dr. Jane for
altering, with breed specific rescues waiting for them. We transferred 4
others, pups needing hernia surgery, altering at the same time, to other
rescues.
If
you are doing spring cleaning, we would welcome those gently used lounge
chair pads & cushions. The fur-kids love lying about under a shade
tree during the day, basking on a lounge pad with the breeze blowing
across their fur. For some, this is the first place they ever were
allowed to roll on grass, burrow into the leaves. It's a swell playtime
for them.
Petfinder.com
continues to be such a great help to these fur-kids. Please continue to
check weekly, especially the Library.
We
give thanks to each of you who so generously give of your time &
talents to help these fur-kids as they wait patiently for their fur-ever
homes. Rescue life is good, yet a fur-ever home is best. We could not do
this work without your continued support. God bless you each & every
one.
And
last, but not least, a very special prayer for those in uniform keeping
us safe & free. May God wrap His Bubble of Protection about them
& those that wait patiently for their return.
