Pets for Senior Homes www.7bellssanctuary.petfinder.com
This
month has been full of passings to the Rainbow Bridge. We extend
sympathy to Jo Anne on the loss of Princess, Connie on the loss of Biggy,
Sally on the loss of Wiggles, Lela & Doug on the loss of Spaz, Donna
on the loss of Phaerda, Mary on the loss of Gidget, Doris on the loss of
Monkey, Doreen on the loss of Toby. Marti held our rescue Candy Carlotta
as she went to the Bridge. We also extend sympathy to Bob in Memory of
Stonewall, 1982-March 2000.
We
still ask for your prayers for Johanna as her mom is still not awake. We
also ask for continued prayers for Becky & family for their infant
son. Home from the hospital, he must still wear the heart monitor,
oxygen, it has been touch as go as he forgets to breathe. We also ask
for prayers for Tami & Lil Sassman, a dachshund paralyzed yet
showing improvement. We also ask for your prayers for Bob with his
medical challenges.
Visits
to the Good Samaritan Care Center were busy. Heidi Rissa went with young
volunteer Payton, Vicki also went both fresh from a Makeover at Linda's
Grooming. Lil Hans went to show off his new suede jacket with sheepskin
lining, Toby went after his fresh make-over from Linda's. Then, Toby
& Elvira took an afternoon, set up camp in the TV room, Toby on his
lovely pillow bed. The residents were watching a Gene Autry movie,
eating popcorn. It was as much stimulation for the residents to have the
fur-kids there as it was for the fur-kids. Toby usually stays on his
pillow, yet he got off, sat up, looked about, listened, sniffed as so
many sights, sounds & smells to take in. Elvira was her usual quiet
self as so much to absorb.
Our
adoptions for the month were Bijou (who waited such a long time looking
for love) & Peaches (who also waited & watched as others came
& left leaving her behind). While we lost Jim & Margie as a
foster home as they adopted Bijou, it was a failed foster we adore!
Peaches, we just can't say enough about her new home. She blossomed so
much while she waited patiently. With being an only fur-child, this
little puppymill reject on heart Rx will soon learn what life in a home
is really all about.
We
also transferred four puppies & one young three legged dachshund to
another rescue. We came home with some seniors. The rescue loves
youngsters & we love seniors so we are both happy campers!
We
are especially pleased at the Cole Camp pound dog, Bart AKA Mr. Bart
Pryor, & the huge amount of teamwork it took to get him out of the
kill shelter where he had overstayed his welcome. Jo Anne drove the
first leg of the trip to get him to Colorado. Marti rode along with
Lizzie on her lap. His story is on our Pending Adoption page with
updates from transporters. We will soon move him to the Happy Tails
page.
We
are extremely proud that Charlie Brown now has his very own BLOG, thanks
to foster mom Mindi. His BLOG is accessible through a link on our home
page. Our other fosters are Sir Alex still trucking with Buck spreading
the word on 18 wheels about adopting from a shelter or rescue, Charo
with Gerry & Art, Misty with Colleen, Winston with Marti. We
normally only permit one fur-kid in a foster home, yet Jo Anne has
assured us she can handle Lizzie, Bubby & Sugar Cookie so we are
making an exception to our rule.
Last
but not least, we ended the month making a trip to Jefferson City, met
up with Joe Wilson, Man's Best Friend, & Bear 5. Jo Anne, Marti
& I went, meeting up with Sally & Carol, having lunch at the
airport restaurant. Finest fried chicken anywhere in Jeff!! Thanks,
Joe!!
Thanks
also to everyone that helps us help these senior & special needs
ones. They are the greatest! May our Master bless each & every one
of you in our rescue effort to save lives.
